Last year, I made some plant markers from willow sticks. They are fantastic for outside, but a little too big for small seedlings. So this year, I decided to go with clothespins. They are cheap and easy, and way more convenient for the seedlings. Plus, I can clip them onto sticks when the plants go outside or get large.

All you need are wooden clothespins (I got a pack of 60 at the dollar store for $1.50), and a permanent marker.

Step 1: Take a clothespin

Step 2: Write the plant name on the clothespin with a permanent marker

(Optional Step 2.5: write the date planted and the variety too)

Step 3: Clip onto the edge of the pot

Super cute, Super easy… Super Cheap.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, mostly about plants in my Zone 3/4 garden in Alberta, Canada. I also dabble in many different crafty pursuits although I haven’t documented them on here very well for many years.
