March was a pretty busy month update wise, so I will try and keep the same record style going forward. However, April, was mostly about keeping everything I started in March alive. Additionally, the end of the month has been crazy busy for work. All those things mean this will be a short and sweet, and photo-less post as I am already late in getting this posted and if I don’t do it now, it might not happen.

April 2nd

Potted up the first round of tomatoes, the Dark Purple Opal Basil and thinned out the other tomatoes. All cut thinnings were put into water to root, because TOMATOES ARE LIFE 😉

April 10, Potted up the other tomatoes. Just have the rooted thinnings left to put into soil

Tiny Tim’s- one put into a 1 gallon pot, other 3 put into 4″ round pot. There wasn’t enough room for there to be more in the other gallon pot i have waiting. I do intend to keep at least 2 of these growing inside for inside tomatoes. I would like to figure out a way for this to work over the summer so that I can have skills to grow some food inside over winter.

On April 20th, I potted up all the healthiest tomato thinnings into newspaper pots.

April 25, Some of the tomatoes for my friend went to her house to make a little more room under the grow-light.

And that is about the extent of what happened garden wise in April.

Outside the ground is still pretty frozen in the yard, and I am just getting all my over-wintered pots of baby trees out of the ground as it thaws.

Sorry for the short jotted-note style post. I wanted something posted and not let myself get away with not posting this early in the season.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, mostly about plants in my Zone 3/4 garden in Alberta, Canada. I also dabble in many different crafty pursuits although I haven’t documented them on here very well for many years.
